Digital strategy

Rolling out a digital strategy

Rolling out a digital strategy means making choices about systems, data and ways of working, and then actually carrying them through. Van de Braak Consultancy guides companies that know where they want to go but get stuck between the plan and the execution. We build alongside you until it runs.

What does a digital strategy look like in practice?

A digital strategy sets out which systems your company uses, how data flows between them, and who is responsible for what. In practice it is rarely about picking a tool. It is about which work you want to automate, which work stays human, and in what order you tackle it.

Why do digital plans stall?

Plans rarely fail on technology. The most common cause is ownership: after delivery there is no team that maintains the system. On top of that we see rollouts attempted in one big step, integrations considered only afterwards, and suppliers who leave the moment the final invoice is paid.

When you don't need us

If you already have an in-house team that builds and maintains software, we add little. The same goes if your question concerns one clearly bounded system that a specialised supplier delivers as standard. We would rather say so straight away than after a six-week proposal process.

How we approach a rollout

  1. 1

    Inventory

We map which systems are running, where data is entered twice, and which work happens by hand. The result is an overview of your current situation with the bottlenecks named.

  2. 2

    Prioritise on time saved

Every bottleneck gets an estimate: how many hours a month it costs now, and what it costs to solve. That way you set the order yourself, instead of a supplier doing it for you.

  3. 3

    First working version

We build the part with the highest time saving first and put it into use. You see results before investing further, and you learn whether the approach suits your company.

  4. 4

    Expand and hand over

The other parts follow, each in working steps. Meanwhile we train your team, so that maintenance ends up with you.

How we price

We work in fixed steps with a price per step. After each step you can stop, continue or change direction. That keeps a project cancellable at any moment and prevents you being locked into a multi-year commitment before you know whether it works.

Discuss your situation

Tell us which systems you run and where it hurts. We'll say honestly whether we add anything.
